Spiritual Warfare 101: Binding & Loosing
by Pastor Dean Odle

October 16, 2013

Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded” (James 4:7-8).

In the last several decades, there have been a lot of books and teachings in the body of Christ pertaining to spiritual warfare or the “authority of the believer.” Of course many of them are very good, but even with those excellent resources, there is still quite a bit of confusion in church about what a believer can and cannot do in the realm of exercising spiritual authority over the enemy.

Some think that the devil is not really a factor in a Christian’s everyday-life so they do little or nothing to actively resist him. Others go to the opposite extreme and walk in fear, believing that the devil can do what ever he wants when he wants. And sadly, fear causes some of them to end up trusting in strange, unbiblical methods of warfare rather than developing a relationship with God. To add to these problems, some Bible colleges (even Pentecostal ones) incorrectly teach that it is unscriptural to bind the devil or demons. Then I discovered one popular Charismatic author (which we will discuss later) came out with the false teaching that you should loose the devil.

So, in view of all these opinions, we do need to ask and answer some legitimate questions. Do Christians have authority over Satan and his demons? Can we bind demons? What does it mean to “bind a demon” and how do we do it? How long does it last? What can we do to obey the commands of the Scriptures that exhort us to resist the devil? This why we need to look at what Jesus said and how it applies to us today.

In Luke 10:17-20, Jesus said this to his disciples, “And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name. [18] And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven. [19] Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you. [20] Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.”

From this passage, it is clear that Jesus gave seventy of his followers the right to use His name against demons. Notice that this group was not the twelve, but the seventy. This reveals that this power was not just given to the twelve apostles of the Lamb, but even to babes as Jesus called them in verse 21. This also shows us that this authority is for you and me today. But before we look at some corroborating Scriptures, we need to look at the Greek definitions of a couple of words in Luke 10:17-20. First of all, the Greek word for ‘subject’ in verse 17 is ‘hupotasso’ and it means to subordinate; reflexive to obey :- be under obedience (obedient), put under, subdue unto, (be, make) subject (to, unto), be (put) in subjection (to, under), submit self unto (Taken from the Strong’s Exhaustive Concordance of the Bible, Greek Dictionary #5293).

So it is evident: the devils had to obey them, plain and simple. Evil spirits had to do what those babes in Christ told them to do. What an awesome thing! Then Jesus confirmed their exciting experiences by telling them that He would give them power over all the supernatural power of the enemy. The ‘power’ in verse 19 is the Greek word ‘exousia,’ ex-oo-see'-ah. It is taken from the Greek word (exesti) #1832 (in the sense of ability); privilege, i.e. (subject) force, capacity, competency, freedom, or (object) mastery (concrete magistrate, superhuman, potentate, token of control), delegated influence:- authority, jurisdiction, liberty, power, right, strength (Strong’s Greek Dictionary #1849).

Thus, we can conclude beyond any shadow of a doubt that Jesus gave His true disciples power or authority over all the power of Satan and his demons. Demons have to obey true believers in Jesus. Now, some would say, “If this is true, then why haven’t Christians taken the world back from the devil? Why haven’t we seen the enemy routed on a larger more consistent basis?”

To answer these questions, we must first realize that the Creator of the Universe allows many of these supposed paradoxes to exist in the minds of men. For instance, God allowed His greatest victory over evil and sin to appear to be a defeat in the eyes of man. In letting His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, die on the cross at the hands of wicked men, God went to the taproot of evil which was the sin of Adam and Eve that gave Satan the keys of hell and death. That act of love and His blood sacrifice broke the power of sin and Satan for all who would believe in Jesus and turn from their wicked ways. Hence, God chose to let the reality of His victory on the cross work itself out in the hearts of men and women as they learn to walk with Him in a practical way. Even so, the authority of the believer is a solid Biblical truth, but it has to be worked out in a believer’s life as they mature and learn the many facets that make our spiritual warfare effective.

You may wonder, “What does he mean?” Well, the Scriptures that explain this the best are found in James 4:7-8 which says, “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.”

You see, in talking about resisting the devil and having authority over him and his demons, we have to understand that it is not enough to know the mechanics of how to bind or command a demon in Jesus’ name. We can know all the formulas and prayers to pull down strongholds and cause demons to flee, but if we are not submitted to God in all areas of our lives, then our warfare will be will not work. We would be like one beating the air as Paul described in I Corinthians 9:24-27.

To be successful in warfare, our flesh has to be under submission to God. We must be walking in repentance (turning from sinful ways) and be in a real relationship with Jesus Christ of Nazareth. Now, I am not talking about sinless perfection, but rather I am referring to habitual, willful, and premeditated. In other words, a Christian cannot continue to practice sins unto death and expect to be victorious over Satan and his demons.

A perfect Biblical example of what we are studying here is the account of the sons of Sceva mentioned in Acts 19:11-16. Let’s look at it. “And God wrought special miracles by the hands of Paul: [12] So that from his body were brought unto the sick handkerchiefs or aprons, and the diseases departed from them, and the evil spirits went out of them.[13] Then certain of the vagabond Jews, exorcists, took upon them to call over them which had evil spirits the name of the Lord Jesus, saying, We adjure you by Jesus whom Paul preacheth. [14] And there were seven sons of one Sceva, a Jew, and chief of the priests, which did so. [15] And the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are ye? [16] And the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them, and overcame them, and prevailed against them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded.”

Notice first of all that the sons of Sceva were not born again Christians, but they were the sons of a leading priest so I guess they thought they had some spiritual power. They had observed Paul and learned some of the mechanics of how to take authority over the devil, but they did not have the real power and authority that comes from a relationship with Jesus. The demons knew all of that as they know the rules of the spirit realm and of course there was not any power there to drive them out. In addition to that, these guys had the gall to use the name of Jesus Christ which demons hate and that caused the demons to use the man’s body to jump on them and injure them.

As you can see, this is not a game. I know of churches who took it upon themselves to go after demonic principalities in a region only to end up shipwrecked and dispersed. And after asking a few questions here and there, I usually discovered why they were defeated and even destroyed. The main reason was usually that while they had learned some of the fundamentals of spiritual warfare, they were lacking in the area of dealing with sin in the camp. Basically, they were soft on sin. Holiness was not emphasized. Some of these churches even taught the demonic doctrine called “once saved, always saved”[1] while they tried to assault the devil’s kingdom.

Even Jesus alluded to this prerequisite of purity when He said to His disciples just prior to His crucifixion, “Hereafter I will not talk much with you: for the prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing in me’ (John 14:30). You might think, “But that was Jesus! We can’t say that!” But, wasn’t it the Apostle Paul who told the Christians of Ephesus not to give place to the devil? In fact, he made that statement (about not giving place to the devil) in the middle of some verses where he commanded them to stop sinning in very specific areas of their lives (see Ephesians 4:21-32). So, if Christians were commanded to not give place to the devil, then it is possible for the enemy to come and find nothing in us that he can use.

Therefore, holiness, purity, obedience and commitment to Jesus Christ are some of the conditions to having God’s power and authority over the devil. If you have not made up your mind to totally surrender to God and give up all your sins and excuses, then by all means, don’t start attacking the powers of darkness because you will lose.

Taking Up Serpents

Another passage that is very important to us understanding our God-given authority as believers is found in the Gospel of Mark. In chapter 16 verses 15-18, Jesus said this, “Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. [16] He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. [17] And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; [18] They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.”

Again, the case can be made that this authority over the demons was and is given to all those who believe. Notice that the Word of God does not say, “And these signs shall follow some of them that believe.” Nor does it say, “And these signs shall follow just the apostles.” All such nonsense is from the devil anyway, but it is amazing how many so-called theologians and preachers have adopted such unscriptural ideas simply because they don’t want to appear to be Pentecostal. Others think this way because they do not believe the entire Bible. And yet, others are just scared or too proud to admit that they don’t know what to do about deliverance and strategic level spiritual warfare.

Having made that point, we must move on to the phrase and sign, “They shall take up serpents.” Now, as many of you already know, this particular reference to serpents is not teaching people to pick up real snakes as a sign of faith. In Luke 10, Jesus told us plainly that the serpents were demon spirits and we know that because the spiritual being, Satan or Lucifer is referred to as the serpent or that old serpent called the devil. And nowhere in the Bible does it say that we are to go around handling deadly snakes as a sign of faith. And just because some lunatic hillbillies want to do that does not mean that it is what a majority of Charismatics and Pentecostals believe.

So, if the sign of taking up serpents is not referring to real snakes and we know that it is referring to demon spirits, and then what is this a reference to? Obviously, it is the use our authority to temporarily suspend and/or repel the attacks of Satan and his demons. You may wonder how that could be, so I will show you.

First of all, the only example we have of “taking up serpents” as a sign from God is found in the book of Exodus. It was when Moses would cast down his rod and it would become a serpent. Then, he would put forth his hand and take it up and it would become a rod again (see Exodus 4:1-5). The only other example that people try to use is the time when Paul was gathering wood for a fire and a serpent came up out of the fire and latched onto his hand. Paul immediately shook it off and suffered no harm. And though this was sign to the people on the Island of Malta, this incident was not the Apostle Paul picking up a poisonous serpent to prove God's power—the serpent attacked him!

In Egypt, Moses obeyed the Lord and cast his rod down in front of Pharaoh as a sign that God was with him. It was also a sign to Pharaoh that he was to let the children of Israel go. In addition to those things, it was also a sign to the children of Israel that God had really sent Moses to lead them to freedom. Later, Moses used that same rod as a symbol of God’s power to divide the Red Sea when Pharaoh and his armies chased after the children of Israel.

But to get the whole picture of this rod representing our authority in warfare, we have to look at Exodus 17:8-16…
“Then came Amalek, and fought with Israel in Rephidim. [9] And Moses said unto Joshua, Choose us out men, and go out, fight with Amalek: to morrow I will stand on the top of the hill with the rod of God in mine hand. [10] So Joshua did as Moses had said to him, and fought with Amalek: and Moses, Aaron, and Hur went up to the top of the hill. [11] And it came to pass, when Moses held up his hand, that Israel prevailed: and when he let down his hand, Amalek prevailed. [12] But Moses' hands were heavy; and they took a stone, and put it under him, and he sat thereon; and Aaron and Hur stayed up his hands, the one on the one side, and the other on the other side; and his hands were steady until the going down of the sun. [13] And Joshua discomfited Amalek and his people with the edge of the sword. [14] And the Lord said unto Moses, Write this for a memorial in a book, and rehearse it in the ears of Joshua: for I will utterly put out the remembrance of Amalek from under heaven. [15] And Moses built an altar, and called the name of it Jehovah-nissi: [16] For he said, Because the Lord hath sworn that the Lord will have war with Amalek from generation to generation.

As you can see, they went out to war against this demonized nation and the rod of God was the method that God used to inflict a conditional, temporary suspension of the enemies ability to fight. The Amalekites started losing the battle while the rod of God was held up in Moses’ hand, but they would gain strength and begin to win when he got tired and did not maintain this aspect of spiritual warfare. And you also have to notice the human strength and responsibility required to employ this authority.

Because of these fascinating details, there could not be a better example of what the New Testament calls “binding and loosing” for “binding and loosing” represents the same conditional, temporary suspension of Satan and his demons to work in any given situation. But even though Israel won that particular battle with Amalek through using the authority God had given them, Moses prophesied that Israel would have a perpetual war with Amalek from generation to generation. That meant that they would win some battles and lose some battles, but the war would go on until the end.

The same is true with the church of Jesus Christ. In Matthew 16, Jesus told Peter that He would build His church and the gates of hell would not prevail against it. Basically, He was saying that we would ultimately win the war, but that there would be battles ahead. Then, He followed that statement with the declaration that He was giving the keys of the kingdom to the church that whatsoever we would bind on earth, would be bound in the heavens and whatsoever we would loose, would be loosed in heaven.

He gave us authority over the power of the enemy, but we have to use it. We cannot just pick up this rod of God’s authority and put it down when we get tired. Through intercessory prayer and the help of others in the body of Christ, we must take up and exercise our authority against demonic powers until we win the current battles in our lives and communities.

Binding and Loosing

My first experience with the truths of binding and loosing came one day after I read a series of books on demons and how they work. Now, this is not to say that I had not resisted the devils before, but this time was different. I went out to my “prayer house” one day as I had many times before, but it was almost impossible to pray. The heavy oppression of the enemy was stifling. Then, I remembered something that I had read in those books about resisting demons. I took authority over the demons that were afflicting me by binding them and commanding them to stop their maneuvers in Jesus’ name. As soon as I got those words out of my mouth, it felt like something literally lifted off of me and left. There was even a rush of air as I sensed those demonic powers leave. After that, it was easy to pray and joy return. I had learned a valuable lesson. From then on, I began to exercise my authority over demons by first binding them and then commanding them to leave in Jesus’ name.

This truth should not have been a surprise to me because Jesus taught this very thing. In Matthew 12:22-29, Jesus was teaching about demons and deliverance from them when he said, “But if I cast out devils by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God is come unto you. [29] Or else how can one enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he first bind the strong man? and then he will spoil his house.”

Jesus taught the principles of binding and loosing. As I mentioned in before, He taught them in Matthew 16 as well. So, this is not some new theological doctrine created by Charismatics. Jesus introduced these truths and gave us other passages in the Bible that confirm them.

You see, we do battle in the spirit world primarily through our words, so the terminology that we use is very important. The Bible tells us in Matthew 8:16 that Jesus cast out spirits “…with His word.” That means that Jesus cast demons out of people through the power of the Holy Spirit that He had by being submitted to the Father, prayer and fasting, and by speaking to them! And in John 14:12, Jesus taught that those who believe in Him can do the same works and miracles that He did. So, we can do these things if we believe and act on the Word of God.

A lot of people have had trouble with these truths of binding and loosing because most of the time tangible results cannot be seen immediately. Tragically, they do not have the faith or patience to act on the Word of God until they see a change. This is why some Bible colleges and pastors have taught against the practice of binding demons. They have even ridiculed those who have the faith to act on this portion of God’s Word. It is also one of the reasons that most Bible colleges are spiritually dead institutions—as they do nothing with the keys of the kingdom, the devil is beating them to death as he disguises himself in proud intellectualism. And please do not misinterpret what I am saying here, education is not a bad thing, but the letter without the Spirit is dead. The Apostle Paul put it this way, “Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. [6] For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, [7] Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth” (II Timothy 3:5-7).

Some of these professors and pastors say that the truths of binding and loosing only apply to the issue of forgiving someone who offended you. This they do because Jesus used this terminology in Matthew 18 in His teaching about forgiving others. Now, this is not to say that the teaching of binding and loosing does not apply there as well, but all the other references have to do with spiritual warfare. That is the context of Matthew 12, Matthew 16, and Luke 13:11-17. These Scriptures plainly teach that you are supposed to bind the demons and loose people from the grip of the enemy.

I mentioned in the beginning of this article, there is a lady who introduced the teaching that you are to bind people’s mind to the will of God and that you are actually suppose to loose the devil. Her erroneous teaching is actually witchcraft in a nutshell. Witches try to bind up people’s minds in order to get them to do their will and desires. Witchcraft is about controlling people, but even God doesn’t do that. God has given mankind a free will and Satan constantly tries to manipulate mankind. Witches also loose demons to go out and attack others or to bring about a desired result. Sadly, many Charismatics (in their feeding frenzy for “new teachings” or “new revelations”) have bought this woman’s error and have been practicing witchcraft by releasing demons to afflict themselves and their families.

The woman who started spreading this false version of binding and loosing in Charismatic churches was a woman named Liberty Savard. I personally encountered the affects of her false teaching when I pastored a church in Montgomery, Alabama in the 1990s. She came to our city to do some meetings an unknown to me, a couple of ladies from our church went to those meetings. Both of them were intercessors and prayed a lot for the church and me. Not long after they attended those meetings, my associate pastor and I discerned that the spiritual atmosphere in our services had become oppressed and very hard to get through. There was also a growing demonic oppression tha came over me as the pastor and I could not shake it off even in prayer. This went on for several weeks and the demonic darkness was so strong that I almost resigned from the church because I was convinced that God’s blessing had left. (Pastors beware of this coming from witches within your church or Christians who are praying controlling prayers against you).

I had been crying out to God, asking Him to show me what was wrong and then it happened. One night my associate pastor and his wife were at my house for dinner and they mentioned how these two ladies had changed the way they were praying. They had begun to pray the way Liberty Savard taught them and the results were awful. They were binding people and loosing demons. The next day I went to their homes and ask to see Mrs. Savard’s book and I opened up right to the place of the most obvious error. After some Biblical correction, these precious ladies saw the error and repented, but it was not an easy time. Soon after they quit binding people’s minds and loosing demons, the atmosphere completely changed, the demonic oppression left and the peace of God returned.

Here is Mrs. Savard’s erroneous teaching form her book entitled, Shattering Your Strongholds. In chapter seven and page 140, she gives a model of her “new” way to pray and like Satan’s other lies, it is mixed with some truth. It goes like this, “I bind the strongman so that I may destroy his household and take back every bit of joy, peace, blessing, freedom, and every material and spiritual possession that he has stolen from me. I take it back right now! (So far this is correct, but then she ads this devastating heresy) Satan, I loose your influence over every part of my body, soul, and spirit.” Never in the Bible are believers taught to loose Satan’s influence over anyone. Now I know she is trying to say that loosing has another definition, but it is never used the way she is teaching people to use it.

Executing the Judgment Written

Psalm 149 is a powerful prophetic word concerning binding the principalities and powers of darkness. Let us look at it in it’s entirety:

“Praise ye the Lord. Sing unto the Lord a new song, and his praise in the congregation of saints. [2] Let Israel rejoice in him that made him: let the children of Zion be joyful in their King. [3] Let them praise his name in the dance: let them sing praises unto him with the timbrel and harp. [4] For the Lord taketh pleasure in his people: he will beautify the meek with salvation. [5] Let the saints be joyful in glory: let them sing aloud upon their beds. [6] Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, and a two-edged sword in their hand; [7] To execute vengeance upon the heathen, and punishments upon the people; [8] To bind their kings with chains, and their nobles with fetters of iron; [9] To execute upon them the judgment written: this honour have all his saints. Praise ye the Lord.”

In this Psalm, the saints are exhorted to be joyful in glory and as they enter the battle to bind their enemies kings with chains and their nobles with fetters of iron. You may say, “But those were physical battles under the Old Covenant.” But God said, “…this honor have all His saints.” That includes us, only now it is the spiritual warfare in the heavenly realm. This is what Paul was referring to in Ephesians chapters 1,3, & 6 and according to II Corinthians 10: 4-5, we are still suppose to be pulling down Satan’s strongholds with spiritual weapons whether those strongholds are in a person, a church, a home, a city, or a nation. This is New Testament Christianity!

"(For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) [5] Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;" (II Corinthians 10:4-5).

Our main example of loosing comes from Luke 13:10-17, “And he was teaching in one of the synagogues on the sabbath. [11] And, behold, there was a woman which had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and was bowed together, and could in no wise lift up herself. [12] And when Jesus saw her, he called her to him, and said unto her, Woman, thou art loosed from thine infirmity. [13] And he laid his hands on her: and immediately she was made straight, and glorified God. [14] And the ruler of the synagogue answered with indignation, because that Jesus had healed on the sabbath day, and said unto the people, There are six days in which men ought to work: in them therefore come and be healed, and not on the sabbath day. [15] The Lord then answered him, and said, Thou hypocrite, doth not each one of you on the sabbath loose his ox or his ass from the stall, and lead him away to watering? [16] And ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan hath bound, lo, these eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the sabbath day? [17] And when he had said these things, all his adversaries were ashamed: and all the people rejoiced for all the glorious things that were done by him.”

Here Jesus commands a demonic spirit to loose a woman. Then, He leaves no doubt that He means to “untie” by the illustration that He gives about the ox. Another picture of this would be when Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead. He came forth out the tomb still wrapped in the grave clothes. “And when he thus had spoken, he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth. [44] And he that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with graveclothes: and his face was bound about with a napkin. Jesus saith unto them, Loose him, and let him go. [45] Then many of the Jews which came to Mary, and had seen the things which Jesus did, believed on him” John 11:43-45.

You see, salvation brings us out of the tomb of spiritual death. But that is not where we stop in this spiritual journey. We all come into Christ with various degrees of bondage still clinging to us. The enemy wrapped us tight with his “graveclothes” in hopes that he might keep us or at least at get us back later. However, Jesus has people standing by ready to exercise His authority and “loose” us from all of their past. Thank God for those who believe and act on the whole truth.

Back in the mid-eighties, Dr. Larry Lea shared an experience he had with a demon prince over Rockwall, Texas. Dr. Lea had founded an independent Charismatic church there a few years earlier. He had founded the church on prayer and taught them the principles of spiritual warfare. They had been praying for a number of years, but one night Dr. Lea was praying at the altar of his church alone when a demon prince appeared to him holding a huge chain in his hand. You see, Dr. Lea had been binding the demons and commanding the powers of darkness over that region to loose the harvest of souls that belonged to that church. He said that the evil spirit communicated to him and said, “Did you mean that?” And he told him, “You are mighty right I meant it!” At that point, Pastor Lea began to chase that demon out of the church and right before he disappeared he dropped that big chain. As a result of that encounter, over 3,400 people joined that church at those altars in the next twelve months.

In his book, Taking Our Cities for God, author and speaker John Dawson relates how he began to share the principles of binding and loosing with the fiery prophet/musician Keith Green. Keith had already been used mightily by God to bring thousands of young people and adults into the kingdom of God. He preached a no compromising gospel. His message was plain: Separate yourself from the world and get to know Jesus! But when he and John began to bind the powers of darkness before his concerts, they saw many more people respond to the altar calls than usual.

The evangelist primarily responsible for leading the great revival in Argentina since the mid-eighties, Carlos Anncondia, also incorporates binding and loosing into every crusade service he leads. He starts out by saying, “Listen to me, Satan!” He then proceeds to bind the demons and loose the people who are held captive by them. At that point, demons begin to manifest in those who need to be set free and they are escorted to a tent behind the platform for deliverance ministry. Annacondia’s ministry has seen tens of thousands of people delivered from evil spirits and many more that have come to Jesus to be saved.

As you can see, binding and loosing are very powerful weapons in this spiritual battle. Jesus said that they were the keys to kingdom of heaven. He also said that the gates of hell would not prevail against the church He builds (see Matthew 16:18-19). So, why do we see the gates of hell prevailing over many churches and Christians? The answer is simple: only the churches and Christians who use the keys of the kingdom will overcome the onslaughts of the enemy. I could give you the keys to my car and permission to use them, but unless you had enough faith to put the key into the ignition and start the car, you would not get anywhere. This is why so many churches and Christians do not get anywhere in the realm of the spirit—they simply aren’t using the weapons Jesus has given them or they are not using them correctly.

Again, I must emphasize the fact that you must be submitted to God in order to successfully resist the devil. You also must adhere to the word of God in all areas of spiritual warfare. We are to bind demons and loose people. That is what Jesus did and the word of God tells us to follow in His steps (see I John 2:26).

Here’s an example of how you do it: Father, I come to You in the name of Jesus and I thank you for the authority You have given to me over the devil. Right now I bind the demons attacking me in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth! I bind the demons of whoredoms & lust, witchcraft, heaviness, depression, fear, death, sickness, and I command you to stop your attack and go from me right now in Jesus name! Also, I loose my friend Jane from the lying, deceiving spirits blinding her from the gospel in Jesus name. And I loose her from the spirit of infirmity that has afflicted her in Jesus name!
